Recently I’m the writer and a producer of the independent feature drama Around the Sun, described as “intimate and yet deliciously cerebral” by the UK Guardian, and as “very boring” by some guy on Amazon. An alumnus of the Reykjavík International Film Festival Talent Lab and SFFILM’s FilmHouse residency, I’ve also written other features and made a handful of shorts with festival screenings including Aesthetica, Boston Underground, Cinequest, and PÖFF Shorts, among others.

Now an adjunct professor of film at California College of the Arts, I'm formerly the inaugural editorial director of the streaming service Fandor, and I’ve written about cinema and the arts for publications including Film Comment, The New York Times, Screen Slate, and the Village Voice. Seasonally I'm the managing editor of publications for DocLands and the Mill Valley Film Festival, a juror for other festivals including Frameline and SFFILM, a staffer at San Francisco’s Roxie Theater, and an occasional moderator of movie-related panel discussions and Q&As.
